Abstract

Enzymes are biocatalysts derived from natural sources and are not hazardous to the environment and human health. They replace harsh chemicals and are biodegradable, what makes them environmentally friendly. They are completely safe and easy to use. Therefore, enzyme based processes are environmentally friendly, energy and cost-benefit compared to conventional processes. Addition of enzymes in detergents enables reducing the washing temperature and incorporating various types of enzymes manifold reduces the required amount of other components to achieve equal or better washing effects.
